Have you ever seen an advertisement or read a review of a product or service and something about it fired up so much desire inside you that you simply had to buy it right then and there? If so - that could be the power of hypnotic marketing at work and the good news is that now you too can put that same persuasive dynamite into your own adverts, brochures, emails, websites, and more. Can you imagine how that may benefit you and your business right now? Hi, I'm James Goodman. I run my own successful home-based business producing and marketing self-help hypnosis tapes and helping companies like yours improve their marketing messages in a way that's ethically-sound. After reading this introduction and learning the mind-boggling power of hypnotic sales persuasion I'm expecting that you will send me an email or give a call, but not before you learn for yourself how to:
Is it becoming clear yet how hypnotic marketing can help your business succeed? Let me start by telling you about a little Tea Room I helped in my home town of Nottingham just this week. The tea room has lots of customers, lots of business, and you know - they can always do with more. So they ask me if I can come and take a look at their menu and see if I can improve it in any way. Well, looking at their photocopied menus I can see straight away that they just have the names of the food and the prices up there with simple descriptions. That's great factual information. Only what's missing is the right brain creative thinking. So I spend a day chatting with them, learning about all the fresh local produce that goes into the ingredients, and the processes they go through to make those delicious meals, and the next day I come up with a sophisticated new menu in beautiful colour that describes all the mouth-watering flavours, the wonderful textures and all. Let's give you an example and see which one you prefer:
Can you spot all of the hypnotic techniques I used? Did you notice how the description invites you to imagine the scones and the tastes, the flavour, the sensations, and even the benefit of refreshment? It's as if you go inside and imagine it all in order to understand the sentence. I wonder how tempted you would be to buy? It's making me feel hungry just thinking about it! The Tea Room have received endless praise about their new menu already and sales have flourished. Customers are finding it even easier to choose, the waitresses say people are ordering more quickly, and the kitchen have remarked that people are being tempted to try more new things. Customers are thanking the tea room owners for caring so much about their needs! Did you notice the use of an embedded command I inserted in there as well? Read the menu item again and see if you can spot it now! You see, sometimes when a word has more than one meaning, like the word "by" and "buy" for example, then they can be used to your advantage. "by a refreshing pot of tea for two" in the context of the menu sounds fine and to the unconscious mind it is also processed as a command - increasing sales even more. It's very important this technique is only used ethically. It cannot be used to force a customer to buy something they don't want or need. If you try that then it will backfire sooner or later you can be sure!
Whenever I work with a company I always bear in mind that whatever motivations a customer has to buy it always comes down to two simple things. Get this right and you are already halfway there. Human beings are genetically programmed to gain pleasure and avoid pain. It's that simple. Can you think of ways you can use those motivation strategies in your marketing material now? If not you are losing out on valuable sales. There are in fact 16 desires common to all human beings - power, independence, curiosity, acceptance, order, saving, honour, idealism, social contact, family, status, vengeance, romance, eating, physical exercise, and the pursuit of peace. If you are offering any product or service of value then its likely that it will fall into one or more of these categories and when your marketing messages are formulated to capture and motivate those primal needs customers will thank you for it in the form of extra sales. One other powerful motivating force that can be used to drive sales is the human need to complete incomplete thoughts. The attention centre of the brain, called the reticular activating system or RAS for short, is considered the centre of motivation. Have you ever been in a situation where you wanted to buy a new car, and all of a sudden you started seeing those cars everywhere? That kind of thing is the RAS at work. How can you use that to increase sales? The human brain receives so much sensory data that it filters out much of what it doesn't need. That means that if people aren't open to seeing your product or service as a benefit to them, they may not even see it at all! One way you can activate the RAS in your potential customers are asking them to write something down - this sends a powerful signal to the cerebral cortex - you could ask them to write down a list of all the things they need to buy in the next three months for example. You could also create an entertaining activity to focus their minds on your product or service, or ask them to participate in an online poll. The possibilities are endless. As you have been reading these words in this short introduction to hypnotic marketing you have been learning about the wonderful power of words and the way that they can be used and I don't know if you may wish to contact me now or contact me after you have put some of these great tips to use. Beyond these techniques there are limitless other ways that you, your business, and your customers can benefit from the power of words. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
